BridgesICT facilitates a community-wide effort to create pathways for the community to move toward strength and stability in eleven categories of resources. Using the models developed by Aha! Process, BridgesICT offers Bridges Out of Poverty workshops for resourced community members from all sectors of society. The workshops bring a common understanding and language surrounding poverty to the community. BridgesICT coordinates local agencies who offer Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World classes for under-resourced people. Beyond these classes, BridgesICT collaborates with existing agencies to bring wrap-around services such as financial literacy and parenting classes to Getting Ahead graduates. These services, called Staying Ahead, bridge participants’ way from a poverty mindset to stability. As people on both sides of the poverty line develop a common understanding of poverty and a language to address it, the community can work together to reduce poverty and its effects across the region.
